Casters can help us move large machines and products easily, but if the selection is wrong, it may cause installation failure, poor experience, or scrap half of the castors when transported, which will not only affect the objects being transported, but also consume more time and manpower.

When selecting models, we need to decide from the following three aspects:

1.& nbsp; Heavy load of casters:

The load load of the caster is one of the most important factors in the selection. We need to confirm that the maximum load of the caster can withstand our service load to avoid fracture and cracking. Since the casters may experience partial loads or impact during actual applications, the load is usually not calculated according to the theoretical value during calculation to avoid too full calculations and leave room for practical applications. Therefore, during use, we can calculate the allowable load under different circumstances through the following two equations:

Solid state load calculation: Allowable load of a single caster=( maximum load+ weight of the vehicle)/3. This formula is also applicable to the situation where the ground condition is good and the caster is subjected to small impact when in use. At this time, we believe that there are only three casters Always keep in contact with the ground;

Liquid load calculation: The allowable load of a single caster =(maximum load + weight of the vehicle)/2. This formula is also suitable for calculating the load when the caster receives a large impact during transportation when the road conditions are poor. At this time, we believe that due to the instability of liquid during transportation, there will be two casters in alternating contact with the ground.

In addition, in the case of uneven load distribution during transportation, the caster load needs to be calculated based on the load of the caster with the heaviest load. As shown in the figure below, the caster needs to be calculated based on the load of P2 and selected.

2.& nbsp; Material of caster:

The material of the caster determines the hardness, hardness and wear resistance of the caster. The hardness and hardness of the casters determines the feeling during use. Soft rubber casters absorb greater impact when crossing obstacles, deform more, and have stronger cushioning performance; hard casters have relatively smaller rolling resistance. Smooth use and more convenient manipulation. The wear resistance of casters also means the service life of the casters. For example, in controlled testing, the service life of polyurethane casters was three times that of rubber casters.

3.& nbsp; Specifications of caster:

Unreasonable specifications of casters will lead to installation failure or inability to use. For example, wrong selection of the wheel diameter of the caster will affect the use experience of the caster, because the large wheel diameter can make the transportation process smoother and make it easier to pass through uneven roads. In the specifications, rolling resistance is also a data that we need to pay attention to when selecting models. It represents the applicability during use. Too small rolling resistance is not necessarily a good thing and may make it more difficult for you to control the direction and speed of the casters during transportation.
