A coupling is a mechanical partthat connects the shafts of two different machines and rotates together during transmission. Generally speaking, the two shafts will not disengage during the operation of the coupling. The coupling alsohas a certain ability to compensate for the offset of the two shafts, which can reduce the vibration of the mechanical transmission system and reduce the impact peak load. The coupling should also have certain buffering and damping properties. Some couplings also have overload safety protection.
According to different types, performances, and uses, they can be divided into the following categories:
Metal diaphragm couplings: suitable for servo motors, encoders, planetary reducers, ball screws, compressors, mixers, papermaking machinery, robots and other mechanical equipment.
Plum coupling: suitable for encoders, servo systems, motor spindle drives, packaging machinery, machine tool drives, pumps and other machinery.
Bellows coupling: suitable for encoders, CNC machine tools, positioning systems, ball screws, indexing discs, planetary gear reducers.
Spring coupling: suitable for rotary encoders, stepper motors, screw rods, etc.
Parallel coupling: suitable for connecting stepping motors, encoders, screw rods, etc.
Cross slider coupling: suitable for tachometers, encoders, screw rods, machine tools and other machinery.
Universal coupling, rigid coupling.
